I accept Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance plans. If you hope to use insurance to pay for your sessions, I recommend that you call the number on the back of your insurance card to ask whether I am in-network with your Highmark plan.

For those without Highmark insurance, I am considered an out of network provider. This means that I do not bill your insurance company directly. Some clients prefer this payment method over having therapists directly bill their insurance companies, as it allows you to make the final decision regarding whether insurance companies see your confidential health information and whether that information becomes part of your health record.

If I am out of network with your insurance provider, I can provide you with an invoice (or a "superbill") which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you choose. Many plans will reimburse you for 50-70% of the session fee, and some have an out of network deductible you must meet before you can be reimbursed.

It is always a good idea to contact your insurance company and ask about your mental health benefits so you can make the most informed decision about the care you receive. Questions you may want to ask include:

• How much I will be reimbursed for mental/behavioral health services with out of network providers?

• How much is my deductible and have I met it yet?

• Will I have a copay?

• How many sessions per year does my plan cover?

• Do I need preauthorization to receive services? If so, how do I complete this?

I offer free, 15-minute phone consultations in which we can talk about what you are looking for. At that time, we can begin to decide together if I am the best person to meet your needs. At the end of that consultation, I will be happy to either schedule you for an intake session with me or provide you with a referral to one of my excellent colleagues practicing locally.

Fees will be collected at the time of  each session. Basic receipts will be given at that time, and invoices to submit for out of network insurance benefits will be given at your request. I accept major credit cards, checks, and cash.
